Hue is a mid-size city in the middle of Vietnam. It is about 2 to 3 hours far from Da Nang and Hoi An by bus. Back in 1802, Hue was the imperial capital of Vietnam under the Nguyen dynasty. Therefore it is a highly historical city ; worth being visited. The citadel, tombs and temples are noted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You can pretty much manage to visit most places of interest within a day (Hue Citadel, Thien Mu Pagoda, Minh Mang Tomb, Khai Dinh Tomb and Tu Duc Tomb). It’s a great stop wether you are heading to the north or the south of the country.
That being said, the weather has been crazy bad through the entire length of my stay. Heavy rain and wind were probably resulting from the typhoon currently hitting the south of Vietnam. It has been a struggle to pull out ok-images!
