Battambang travel photography – Cambodia

Despite being the second largest city of Cambodia, Battambang is a quiet place in between Siem Reap and Phnom Phen. There is not much to do in the surroundings but it is worth a one day stop!

Few activities include exploring the Wat Banan which is located at about 22 km from Battambang. The temple dominates the valley up to the Phnom Banan peak.

Phnom Sampou peak is located at about 15 km from Battambang. There are a couple of caves and Buddha statues to explore in the area. The killing cave used to be a torture and execution site under Pol Pot’s regime. The Bat Cave is an awesome opportunity to end the day in a happy note. Each day at sunset time, millions bats fly out of the cave for about 45 minutes. An unforgettable experience!
