Located in Southern Cambodia, Kampot is a city on the Preaek Tuek Chhu river. It is a short 30 minutes bus journey from Kep. The city is much bigger than Kep but does not directly face the sea.
Kampot is famous for its pepper plantations and salt fields. Locals are producing one of the most if not the most famous pepper in the world. Having tried it, I would say that it is actualy quite tasty. There are plenty of pepper cultures that you can visit. I can’t help but recommend La Plantation pepper farm. It is a sustainable and responsible business supporting the development of local communities.
Driving a scooter in the area is a great opportunity to enjoy the beauty of rice cultures and local villages!
