Kuala Kangsar is a small city at about 1 hour by bus from Ipoh ; route 35 from the Medan kidd station. Also known as the royal capital, it was the first foothold of the British back in the 1870s. Kuala Kangsar is slightly off the beaten track but definitely worth a day trip from Ipoh.
There are a few things to explore in the area: colonial buildings, luxuriant royal palaces and obviously the Masjid Ubudiah. Masjid Ubudiah ranks amongst the most beautiful mosque in Malaysia.
Back in in 1913, Masjid Ubudiah was designed by Arthur Benison Hubback who is also known for the design of both Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur railway stations. Masjid Ubudiah was only fully built in 1917.
Pictures are superb 😊☺🌷🌹
