Amed is a small fishing village and a gateway to the Gili Islands. It located in the northern-east most part of Bali Island. Amed is primarily known as a snorkeling and diving spot. Driving a motorbike can get you to the Titra Gangga temple or the Tulamben marine reserve.
It is a great place to enjoy some quietness and escape the busyness of Bali! Since most people use Amed as a gateway to the Gili Islands, the city is quite off the beaten track. It is a lovely opportunity to enjoy sunsets on the beach without being surrounded by hundreds of tourists.
Amed’s coastline is made of black sand beaches. The city is surrounded by a number of mountains ; one of them being the majestic Mount Agung which stands at 3031m above sea level!
