Pagudbud is a small town located in Northern Luzon. It is a short 2-hour bus journey from Laoag or a 4-hour bus journey from Vigan. You can either choose to stay on the west coast at Saud Beach or on the east coast at Mayra-Ira Beach. Saud Beach is the biggest and closest one from Pagudbud.
Saud Beach is surrounded by a small fishing village with a nice local life. The economy is mainly driven by domestic tourism which is really enjoyable. It is a very quiet and slow pace village with the cleanest beach you can find in Asia. There is literally no litter on the beach and in the water. This is rare enough in Asia to be highlighted! Pagudbud is a great alternative to the busyness of the southern Islands of the Philippines!
The area is meant to be an awesome surfing spot with amazing wave breaks. The surfing season kickoff around September though. Unless you want to chill, a day or two will be enough to explore the area. Expect mesmerizing white sands and turquoise waters!
