Santa Juliana is a very quiet and slow pace village located in Southern Luzon. It is one of the starting point to hike Mount Pinatubo. Wether you are heading north or south of Luzon, get a bus to Capas Junction and then get a jeepney from the Capas station to the Patling station. From Patling station you can either hire a trishaw or hitchhike to Santa Juliana. Heading from Baguio is a 7-hour bus journey in total.
While you can probably get a cheaper or similarly priced tour starting from Manila, I can’t help but recommend heading to Santa Juliana (note that you are not allowed by law to hike Mount Pinatubo on your own). This little village really deserves a visit! The landscapes around the village are really nice but the real highlight of Santa Juliana is the people!
Expect friendly locals to be up for a chat and kids to be crazy running around you! The atmosphere is just incredible for anyone looking for a bit of local life! There are a couple of paths to explore around the village ; just refer to maps.me.
Great candid shots!
